Antônio Barra Torres é formalizado como presidente da Anvisa

O presidente Jair Bolsonaro submeteu ao Senado Federal, para apreciação, dois nomes para ocupar a diretoria da Agência Nacional de Vigilância Sanitária (Anvisa): Antônio Barra Torres, para o cargo de presidente da agência, no lugar de William Dib; e Marcus Aurélio Miranda de Araujo para uma vaga de diretor. As duas indicações estão publicadas no Diário Oficial da União (DOU) desta quinta-feira, 9.

Antônio Barra Torres está à frente da Anvisa desde dezembro passado, quando o mandato de Dib se encerrou. Ele é médico e contra-almirante e trabalhou para barrar o processo de plantio de Cannabis medicinal dentro da agência. Marcus Aurélio é servidor da Anvisa e era chefe de gabinete do ex-presidente William Dib.

Para assumir os postos, os dois indicados precisam passar por sabatina no Senado Federal e ter seus nomes aprovados em comissão e no Plenário da Casa.
