A BMW lançou, em Las Vegas, durante o evento CES 2022, uma tecnologia que permite carros mudarem de caro com apenas um toque. A novidade foi introduzida e uma versão especial do BMW iX nessa quarta-feira (5).

O recurso usa digitalização para mudar a coloração do exterior do automóvel e é chamado de E Ink. As cores disponíveis inicialmente são preto e branco.

Por enquanto, não há previsão da tecnologia estar disponível para consumidores.

Um toque em um botão do carro aciona um campo elétrico que muda a cor do carro. A superfície do modelo com o E Ink possui milhões de microcápsulas, com diâmetro que equivale à espessura de um fio de cabelo humano, e cada uma delas tem pigmentos brancos e pretos.
